Sorry about my lack of posts too. Other than the busy life us graduate students have (as R pointed out)… my cat has been sick on and off for the past month or so. I am finally getting some time… and well the right state of mind to do a blog post.
Hope all of you who are in Irene’s path are staying safe and dry. I know I am trying to! I’ve been stuck at home since yesterday, so I took the chance for some ME time! 🙂
I’d been meaning to try french tips using hole protectors for a long time…so here are the results!
There’s still a bit of summer left and I for one, intend to make full use of it! 🙂 So I took the opportunity to try out a new bright manicure.
I tried to combine a few different summer manicure trends this time – combining a muted color with a brighter color, graphic stripes and painting a single stand out nail.
Here’s the outcome:
Since I have started working out after a four month hiatus (yes I am healthy like that…)… I have realized I NEED to do something about the way my hair looks after I am done with the gym. Hence I decided to buy a dry shampoo. I was always aware these existed, but had never felt the need to use them. I did not want to get a high end brand because I was not sure these things work… at all. I went for the Tresemme Normal to Oily hair/Volumizing dry shampoo.
I apologise for being away from the blog for so long! But what with moving, and finally getting to see my boyfriend after 2.5 months…things have been pretty crazy!
But things are never too crazy for some online shopping! 🙂 So long ago, I got an email from Paypal a long time ago, asking me to sign up for Rue La La…and the best part was that I got a $20 credit just for signing up through that email.
So a quick background on Rue La La….it’s another designers-for-less website…along the lines of Gilt, Beyond the Rack, Hautelook, etc. But what also sets them apart, is that they not only have sales for clothing, home accessories, etc. but also for special deals in your city and around the world….sort of like Groupon. They often have great sales on fabulous getaway locations around the world!! If I only had the money…:) Also, every Sunday night is the Rue La La Styleathon with great sales starting at 8pm! Which I really appreciate since most of us are at work during regular 11am sales.
So I finally used my $20 credit to purchase a military green and yellow digital watch by Puma. Here it is:

Let me start out by apologizing for the lack of posts. I just got back from India and have been adjusting to the timezone ever since! However, I would like to post an interview I did with my favorite hairstylist – Bridgette Jones. I posted about her doing my hair cut, highlights, and how to maintain highlights. She has been in the haircare industry for VERY long and she is a celebrity stylist for a lot of Indian personalities. Additionally, she is originally from London – so her experience with hair is fairly global. As far as skincare and makeup goes, she is a professional make up artist and consults for celebrities and weddings all over India (and beyond). Despite being so busy, I am truly grateful that she had the time to answer these questions for me!
Hey all! So as you know I did recently get my hair colored with some highlights and a global base. I wanted to make sure I knew how to maintain the color and also nourish my hair as coloring is a fairly harsh chemical process. Taking no risks, I immediately asked Bridgette Jones, my trusted hair stylist since 10th grade or so! She is the one who also gave me my summer haircut!
